My focus is going to be about abolishing alcohol. I strongly believe that America needs to abolish alcohol! Alcohol makes more damage to your body than marijuana or cigarettes. When young teenage girls, and college women get drunk not only they put themselves in a position of getting raped, however even possibly getting killed. It is very dangerous. Drunk drivers is the number one leading cause of car accidents. If the U.S. abolish alcohol for good, we would prevent thousands of car accidents in the U.S. Alcohol must be abolished!~Sheyla
i am going to do my arguement on how men have degraded woman. I think it will be a interesting topic to research. I will enjoy presenting this to the class. I am a feminist person, and sexism towards woman bothers me. I would like for the guys not to be too judgemental about woman. There are different kinds of woman with different personalities and ideas. the only con i would think of was that the boys will not be interested in this topic. There are not very many boys in class, so I wont bore too many people hopefully.
My topic is going to be smoking. I think this is very serious problem in the world. Now almost people know smoking is really bad for their body. But there are some people who still smoking. They know it's dangerous but they just don't care about it. Now in my country Korea, many teeagers are smoking. I think this is very serious. They even don't know how this is serious. They just smoking because it looks like good. So I think this smoking is going to good topic for everyone.

I'm not totally positive what my topic will be, but I am leaning most towards inhumane treatment of animals. Although cows, pigs, and chickens are sent to the slaughterhouse to be killed, there are a lot that get away with being very brutal and inhumane. I have researched stories in which animals are skinned alive, or treated in an extremely disturbing manner just for entertainment. I don't feel that all slaughterhouse workers are this way, but I have read personal accounts from workers that have either witnessed these acts or taken part in them. I love meat, I am not a vegetarian, and I believe in the circle of life, but I think there should be some decency when it comes to it. This subject could also relate to the way animals used for sport are treated. I feel very strongly about this, but I am just trying to decide if it would work for this assignment.

I haven't quite decided what I am going to do for my argument, but I might do it on tag at schools that we did for our in class activity. I think tag can be dangerous along with other games and activities played at recess. If games are played correctly, there should be no problem and things can go smoothly, but kids are kids and we always expect things to NOT go smooth. Anything can happen whether it is an accident or if someone intentially pushes someone else off the swings or shoves them down. I think making more rules is good for the school, but kids should still be able to be a kid our for recess. Tag is best played at home or at the park and safer.

The issue I have chosen for my brochure is eating disorders. I’m going to really focus on Anorexia Nervosa. I think that this is an important issue because many young girls have to deal with this issue, and they don’t have anyone that can help them. Since most girls want to be thin, and look like the celebrities they see on TV, they harm their body by starving themselves, and doing bad things like that. Many of these girls restrict their intake to fewer that 1,000 calories per day. This is really bad, and they probably don’t want to admit this is happening to them. I want my brochure to have lots of useful information for them that they can use. Many girls who do this have not idea how bad they are harming their body, and it also causes psychological problems.

For my project I am arguing the about tag on recess. Kids enjoy playing this game, but many people think that it should be banned. This is important, because it is a big part of childhood and kids look forward to it. There are many pros about tag kids learn to work together, weight loss, and entertainment. There are a few cons kids can get hurt. I think kids should be able to have fun on recess breaks. This is why i chose to argue about tag on recess. Jenny Evans
I am not absolutely positive on what I am going to do for this project, but I am thinking about doing it on how kids these days are playing too many video games and watching tv way too much. Growing up I watched a fair amount of tv and played a few video games, but all of my happy childhood memories have been outside. Now many kids are playing video games more than playing outside. They are getting less excercise, and the excercise that they do get is more of a chore than ever. What is that doing for their future? Some people could argue that it helps them in other ways, but I can not think of one way that playing video games in my younger years has prepared me for this (growing up). I hope to point out a few things on how doing other things like playiing outside or reading would be more benefitial for their future.

i am going to do my arguement on how the iowa department of natrual resorces need to give hunters more tags and more time to hunt. This would reduce the deer related car accidents on the highway greatly. I would like if the government would give us hunter more tags to kill deer. this would make me happer and make everyone happy on the roads.

In my brochure I will argue why I think policemen should get paid more than what they do right now. Policemen should get paid more because without them no one is safe. They risk their lives everyday to try and keep the peace, and we do not even pay them much. pros are that we pay them more they will know that they are appreciated, and they might even work harder. The cons are that if we pay them more people who do not have anything interest in saving peoples lives they just might be in it for the money.

I think I might do my argument on not starting smoking. I am a smoker and it is the hardest thing to quit. I'm familiar with some of the chemical reasons for the addiction, and with my personal expirience, the habbit part of the addiction.
I want to inform my audience about the ways smoking creates issues with their lives right now. This argument will focus more on the here and now of smoking.

I think that I'm going to do my topic on global warming. I think that this would be an interesting subject to talk about because this issue could affect the lives of everyone. I don't know a whole lot about this subject other then what I have watched on television. Some people believe that global warming is real because the snow on top of mountains are melting, while others think that it's a natural thing that occurs in nature. No matter what side one takes on global warming, everyone can benefit by using environmentally friendly products.

Suicide is what I am going to agrue about. There is nothin in this world that is so bad that you should feel that you need to take your own life. When people commit suicide it doesn't help anything it just makes other people depressed and sad. When someone says something about wanting to commit suicide it is not a topic to be taken lightly. I really hope that there is not a counter argument about suicide because if there is I think they need to go and get some help.

I'm not to sure what my argument is going to be but im leaning towards violent video games. Young kids today are playing video games with killing and what not. I do not agree that these games should be availabe for children. They influence the mind of a young kid that it may be ok to do these things, or that its cool to rob cars are rape women. In my brocure I will point out the main problems and how to fix them.
